The Best Time to Visit Dubai: Why October to April

Warm days, cooler evenings and the city at its liveliest. Here is why the months from October to April are the sweet spot for a Dubai holiday.

Dubai has two very different seasons. From roughly May to September it is hot and humid, and most of daily life moves indoors. From October to April the heat eases, evenings become pleasant and the whole city moves outside again. If you want to enjoy Dubai on foot, on a terrace or by the water, these are the months to come.

Comfortable days, pleasant evenings

In the cooler months daytime temperatures are typically in the twenties to low thirties Celsius, and evenings are mild enough to sit outside without air conditioning. December, January and February are usually the coolest months. That makes it the time for walking between sights, long dinners outdoors and beach days that do not feel like a test of endurance.

The outdoor season

Many of Dubai's best experiences only really work when the weather allows it. The terraces around the Dubai Fountain fill up, desert trips are far more comfortable, and parks and promenades come alive in the evening. Seasonal attractions such as Global Village and the Dubai Miracle Garden open for the cooler months, and outdoor restaurants reopen their terraces.

Big events and celebrations

The cooler season is also when Dubai hosts its biggest moments. New Year's Eve at the Burj Khalifa is one of the best known fireworks shows in the world, and the Dubai Shopping Festival usually runs over the winter holidays. Dates change every year, so check the official event calendars before you book. See our tips for New Year's Eve in Dubai.

Book early for the peak weeks

Because so many people choose the same months, the best homes go first, especially over Christmas, New Year and school holidays. Our calendars show live availability for each home, so you can see straight away which dates are still open.

Where to stay

For a first visit, Downtown Dubai puts the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain within walking distance. Many of our homes are there, from one to four bedrooms. For a quieter, romantic escape, The Spice Island in Jumeirah Village Circle has a private jacuzzi. Browse our Downtown homes or all our homes.
