Winter is Dubai's high season, and the calendar fills up with things you can only do in the cooler months. These are the highlights worth planning your trip around. Opening dates change every year, so always confirm them on the official websites before you travel.
New Year's Eve at the Burj Khalifa
At midnight on 31 December the Burj Khalifa becomes the centre of a fireworks and light show watched around the world. The streets of Downtown fill up hours in advance, which is why many visitors prefer to watch from a home with a view. Read more on our New Year's Eve in Dubai page, with live availability for 31 December.
Global Village
Global Village is a seasonal open-air park with pavilions from countries around the world, street food, shopping and evening entertainment. It opens for the cooler months and is a popular evening outing for families.
Dubai Miracle Garden
The Dubai Miracle Garden is a huge flower garden with sculptures and displays made from millions of flowers. Like Global Village, it opens for the cooler season.
Dubai Shopping Festival
The Dubai Shopping Festival usually runs over the December and January holidays, with offers across the city's malls, concerts, fireworks and family events.
The outdoors at its best
Winter is also simply the best time for the things that are hard in summer: a desert trip, a day at the beach, a dhow cruise or dinner on a terrace by the Dubai Fountain.
Plan ahead
The winter weeks, and especially the period around Christmas and New Year, are the busiest of the year. If you have dates in mind, check our homes early. Each home shows its live availability and the minimum stay for your dates.
